It is beautiful beyond words. I found myself repeating "Wow!" throughout the day. Flying over the mountains in Canada was cool, the ride to Banff was spectacular, and the town is incredible. It is surrounded by small mountains, covered in snow. We walked through town to a path by a river. It's funny how the town was crowded, but down by the river was peaceful. I know, I know I am usually the gung-ho guy, but we spent almost the entire day out in the heat yesterday hiking up Mt. Vesuvius (Europe's only active volcano) and around Pompeii. It was so hard to arrive in a bustling city after being in the serene valley for 4 days, although we picked a good day to leave, as it was raining. So the weather made it perfect for a 4 hour train ride through the mountains, meadows and farm land.
